Norsk for alle offers a variety of projects in the field of Norwegian language instruction.

This year, we are pleased to offer various courses organized by the IMDi (Directorate of Integration and Diversity). Please read the information below carefully before applying for a spot.

Project 1: Vocational Norwegian Language Training

Norsk for alle offers free vocational Norwegian language training for those who want to improve their Norwegian language skills and feel more confident in the workplace. The course is particularly suitable for those who want to use Norwegian in the following areas: education, health care, and customer service.

The course consists of 96 instructional hours and is divided into two main parts:

Part 1: Norwegian at Level B1: In the first part, we focus on key skills at the B1 level: reading, listening, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and oral communication.

The goal is for you to gain confidence in Norwegian and build a solid foundation in the language before moving on to the vocational portion of the course.

Part 2: Conversation practice and work-related topics.
In the second part, we’ll practice the Norwegian you’ll need in the workplace and in your studies.

Among other things, we cover: job interviews, resumes and applications, communication with coworkers, customer service, healthcare, school and education, rights and responsibilities in the workplace, workplace conversations, and typical situations in the Norwegian workplace.
In addition, there will be a seminar on working life in Norway.

Attendance is mandatory for all classes included in the course.

Project 2: Mastery and Participation – Targeted Norwegian Language Training

Would you like to pass the Norwegian Language Test and feel more confident in the Norwegian language and in society?
Norsk for alle offers a free course for anyone who wants to improve their Norwegian language skills, become more involved in society, and prepare for the Norwegian Language Test.

The course consists of 96 instructional hours and is divided into two parts.

Part 1: Norwegian at Level B1

In the first part, we focus on key language skills at the B1 level.
You will practice:

  • reading comprehension
  • listening comprehension
  • written presentation
  • oral communication
  • grammar
  • vocabulary
  • pronunciation

The goal is to strengthen your foundation in Norwegian so that you are well prepared to continue studying for the Norwegian Language Test.

Part 2: Targeted practice in reading, listening, writing, and oral communication

In the second part, we focus specifically on all sections of the Norwegian Proficiency Test.

You will practice listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written expression, oral communication, social cues, descriptions and reflections, discussions, and conversations.

Attendance is mandatory for all classes included in the course.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

  • are 18 years of age or older,
  • lives in Norway,
  • have completed at least Level A2,
  • want to improve your Norwegian,
  • and are not already enrolled in free Norwegian language classes funded by the government.

All applicants must take a placement test (oral and written) before the course begins.
